About Alexandrina Council's Business Initiatives Grant

Alexandrina Council recognises the importance of working together with business and industry to achieve a sustainable future. Council’s Business Initiatives Grant program aims to support our small business community in achieving local economic outcomes that benefit our region. Council is proud of its Small Business Friendly Council (SBFC) status and recognises the contribution small businesses make to a diverse and vibrant local economy. The Grant program aligns with the new Economic Development Strategy 2022-2027 - Regenerating Alexandrina’s Economy and supporting businesses build their digital capability to be competitive in the future.

What type of activities will be funded?

Council is seeking to fund small business digital shopfront improvement projects which contribute towards Appropriate Growth and help Alexandrina to thrive. The primary objective of this grant program is to assist businesses to recover from the negative impacts caused by COVID-19 and associated restrictions by building their digital capability.  Projects should generate economic development benefits for the Alexandrina region contributing to increased consumer and visitor spend.

Elligible activities may include:

  • Improving digital shopfront appeal to connect with and grow your customer base
  • Enabling businesses to trade online to increase turnover and improve profitability
  • Increasing digital capability by improving social media or website performance
